Roca through Communication
2017 marks the 100th anniversary of Roca, the family business founded in Gavà (Barcelona), now a global leader in bathroom design with a presence in 170 countries. The first event to celebrate this milestone is the exhibition "A Shared Story. The Brand Through Communication," curated by designer Óscar Guayabero, on view at Roca Galleries in Barcelona (until May 27) and Madrid (February 22 to June 10).
The exhibition traces the company’s history through its advertising—catalogs, magazines, and commercials—that also reflect key moments in Spain’s social and cultural evolution. It reveals how Roca’s communication has mirrored changing lifestyles, hygiene habits, home design, new materials and technologies, and the rise of globalization. After deep research in company archives and private collections, Guayabero highlights four core values that have consistently shaped Roca’s message: well-being, innovation, design, and sustainability.
