Flushing the toilet, taking a shower, or grooming in the privacy of our bathroom may seem ordinary today, but they represent a major social and urban breakthrough of the 20th century. Just 60 years ago, having a private bathroom at home was a luxury for the few, while most people relied on shared toilets and basic wash basins. To reflect on this transformation, Roca presents the exhibition “From Matter to Product. Design, Technology and Innovation in the Home” at Roca Barcelona Gallery—a journey through the company’s product history and manufacturing processes from its founding in 1917 to the present day. This is the second exhibition held to celebrate Roca’s centenary.
